GENERAL INFORMATION

1. What are the operating hours of the General Office?

We are open from Monday to Friday, 7.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. excluding weekends and public holidays.

2. What are the school hours?*

Gongshang Primary operates as a single-session school and the school hours are as follow:

Thursday	7.30 a.m. - 1.30 p.m.

*For P3-P6 pupils
Parents will be informed for all co-curricular activities and remedial/supplementary lessons that take place after school hours. Do ensure your Parents Gateway(PG) app’s notifications settings are set to receive notifications from the school.

3. What are the recess timings?

4. What time can parents enter the school premises to make purchases from the school bookshop?

The school bookshop is open from 8.30am to 3.30pm (Except every Wed to 2.30pm). Parents may come in after 2pm to make purchases for their child.

ADMISSION

1. How do I register my child/ward for Primary One in Gongshang Primary School?

The Primary One Registration Exercise is generally conducted from June to September every year. Parents should refer to the registration phases and procedures to find out which phase their children are eligible for, how to register and the documents required for registration posted on the MOE website.

SCHOOL-HOME PARTNERSHIP

1. How can I communicate with my child/ward’s teachers?

Your child/ward will receive a letter from his/her Form Teacher at the start of the academic year. In the letter, the Form Teacher will provide his/her email address. Do keep the teacher’s letter for reference. You may also make use of the student’s Learning Journal to communicate with the teacher through handwritten notes. You may also call the General Office and leave a message for the teacher concerned.

2. What must I do if I need to fetch my child/ward from school early?

Students will only be allowed to leave the school premises early if accompanied by an authorized adult. The adult fetching the child must report to the General Office and fill in the necessary form(s) before leaving the school compound. Please do inform the Form Teacher in advance if you know that you need to fetch your child/ward early. Students are not allowed to leave the school on their own even if they have valid reasons to do so.

3. Can my child/ward bring a mobile phone to school?

The school discourages students from bringing their mobile phones to school so that they do not distract themselves and others during school hours. Such items are brought at the students’ own risk and the school will not be responsible for any loss or damage.

4. How can I sign up as a Parent Volunteer?

You can go to the Useful Links/For Parents tab on our website. Please contact the school at gsps@moe.edu.sg for more information on signing up as a Parent Volunteer.
