School Rules
1. National Anthem and National Pledge
1.1 Students who are Singapore Citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the National Pledge. They are to stand at attention, sing the national anthem and recite the pledge (with their right fist placed over their heart) clearly during the flag-raising ceremony.
1.2 Students who are non-Singapore Citizens must stand at attention and show respect to Singapore during the flag-raising ceremony.
2. Attendance and Punctuality
2.1 Punctuality and attendance for all school activities is compulsory. Absence from school or prescribed school activities must be substantiated with a Medical Certificate or a Letter of Excuse from the student’s parent. The school will accept a maximum of five Letters of Excuse from parents per child, per semester, for one day of absence each time. Only Medical Certificates will be accepted to substantiate a student’s absence from a school-based assessment (e.g. weighted assessment, examinations etc).
2.2 Students must report to the assembly venue in school (e.g. school hall / classrooms) by 7.30 am each school day. Students who fail to do so will be considered late for school.
2.3 Students must engage in Silent Reading when they have reported to the assembly venue (e.g. school hall / classroom), until the flag-raising ceremony commences at 7.30 am.
2.4 During school hours (including lunch breaks before remedial, CCAs and all afternoon activities), students are not allowed to leave the school without permission from the School Leaders or leave school unaccompanied by a parent / guardian.
2.5 Students who are not feeling well and wish to go home earlier than the official dismissal time must obtain approval from the class teacher. A parent / guardian must fill up the ’Permission to Leave Early Form’ in the General Office before the student can leave school with the parent / guardian.
2.6 All Primary 1 and Primary 2 students are not allowed to leave school unaccompanied after school dismissal.
3. Personal Appearance
3.1 Pupils are to be properly attired at all times.

Wear the prescribed school uniform at all times when they are in school (including school holidays and for all school activities). Please refer to the images below for an illustration of how the prescribed school uniform should be worn. Modifications to the prescribed school uniform are not allowed.

Wear the prescribed PE attire only on days when there are PE lessons. House or CCA T-shirts can only be worn on Wednesdays.

School shirts (for boys) and all school-based t-shirts are to be neatly tucked in at all times.

Wear white socks and white shoes with no designs or logos. Socks should cover the balls of the ankles.
3.2 Students’ hair must be kept neat and tidy at all times. No tinted, dyed, messy or fanciful hairstyles are allowed. Please refer to the photos for acceptable and appropriate hairstyles.

Hair length must be two fingers above the shirt or t-shirt-collar and neatly cut / trimmed / combed. Hair should not touch the ears, shirt or t-shirt-collar. Fringe must be above the eyebrows.

a. Girls with long hair must tie their hair neatly with plain, black or dark blue accessories.
b. Fringe must be above the eyebrows. Long fringes or long strands of hair at the sides of the head must be clipped up or pushed back with simple black / dark blue clips or hairband.

3.3 All students are not allowed to wear any form of jewellery or accessories. Girls may wear a small pair of plain ear studs, with one stud on each earlobe.
3.4 Fingernails are to be kept short, clean and neat. Nail varnish (including transparent varnish) and decorations are not allowed.
4. Personal Conduct
4.1 Students are to show respect for the school by singing the School Song with pride, and by not bringing disrepute to the school during and after school hours, both in and out of school.
4.2 Students are responsible for their own behaviour and learning by:

Being attentive during lesson or activities,

Listening and complying with all given instructions and school rules carefully and fully,

Completing all given work by themselves (i.e. not copying from others) neatly and diligently,

Submitting all given work and assignments punctually

Being honest during assessments (e.g. test, examination, checking of scripts, etc) by not copying from others or making unapproved alterations on assessment scripts and official documents.
4.3 Students are to show good behaviour by always maintaining self-discipline during and outside school hours both in and out of school by showing respect for themselves and others through:

Being respectful, sensitive, considerate, and responsible when interacting with other pupils, teachers and school staff – face-to-face, online and through all forms of communication channels.

Respecting and taking care of all school or public facilities and property by not damaging, removing or vandalizing them.
4.4 Students are to observe Safety Rules at all times.

Students are not to cause hurt, discomfort or pose a threat to others (i.e. Strictly No Bullying – in thoughts, words or actions – face-to-face, online and through all forms of communication channels). Dangerous and hurtful or harmful behaviour (both actions and words) is not allowed and will not be tolerated. Such behaviour should be reported to school staff immediately.

Students must move quietly and in an orderly manner within the school premises. Unsupervised and reckless running within the school ground is not allowed.

Students can only run or engage in recreational play (with school equipment unless otherwise instructed by teachers) in the parade square area.

Students are not allowed to play outdoors when the Lightning Warning System has been activated or as instructed by the school.

Students are not allowed to remain in the classroom, along the corridors and staircases during recess, lunch breaks or after school except when accompanied by a teacher.

Students MUST follow traffic rules and always observe road safety.
4.5 Students are to keep the school clean at all times.

Students are only allowed to consume food and drinks within the canteen.

Students are to return all used cutlery, plates and cups to the respective food stalls after their meals.

Students are to ensure that the tables, benches and areas that they have used are clean before they leave the canteen. d.Students are to dispose all litter in the bins provided and keep every part of the school clean. During snack breaks, pupils should dispose all unconsumed food and food-related litter into the bins outside their classrooms.
4.6 Students are to be responsible for the safekeeping of their personal valuables (e.g. wallets) and belongings by taking good care of them at all times (i.e. not leaving them unattended at any time).
5 Mobile phones / Smartwatches and Othe Unauthorised Devices
5.1 Students are not to use mobile phones and/or wear smartwatches except the POSB Smart Buddy watch, during school hours including recess, CCA and after-school programmes (e.g. remedial / supplementary / enrichment etc).
5.2 Students who bring such devices to school are to switch them off and put them in their lockers or their school bags before school starts, and retrieve them only after school ends. Students are to be responsible for the safekeeping and use of these devices (in accordance with the school rules) if they want to bring such items to school. The use of POSB Smart Buddy watches is allowed throughout the school day.
5.3 After school hours, students are not allowed to use mobile phones and/or smartwatches(except the POSB Smart Buddy watch) within the school compound, except at the main / side gates or car porch after school, while waiting for their parents to fetch them.
5.4 Students are not allowed to bring any toys, card games, scissors and unauthorised electronic / communication / entertainment / gaming devices capable of capturing, storing, displaying and / or transmitting visual, audio or verbal information to others, to school. This does not apply to the POSB Smart Buddy watch.
6 Prohibited Items & Involvement / Behaviour
6.1 All students are not allowed to have in their possession any prohibited items / weapons / weapon-like items which can be used, or intended to be used, to cause harm to others.
6.2 Students are not allowed to possess any improper or unlawful material. Students are not to behave inappropriately in school or in public.
6.3 Students are not to be involved in smoking / vaping / any type of gang activity. Any student found participating in such activities will be referred to the authorities accordingly.
